Be Here Now. One of my biggest struggles in life is being present in the now. I am always daydreaming about my future travel and adventures. I am happy with my current situation, working in Portland at a nonprofit, but I love to plan my future trips. When I get bored with the day-to-day routine, I stare at maps and pinpoint spots I want to visit. I look up programs abroad. I salivate for foreign foods. I yearn for treks in the mountains. I desire new faces, new tastes, new sounds, new everything. So, how do you “be here now?” I try to make my daily life an adventure. I plan mini trips within Oregon. I go to fun events. I get outdoors. Break the routine at home and you can enjoy the now without ever leaving your state. How do you live in the now, when you can’t travel?
